What is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) give information on how to make your home more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
If you are selling, you are required by law to have at least commissioned (paid for) an Energy Performance Certificate before placing your home on the market.
What does an EPC look like?
An EPC is a multi page document comprising of two charts, one that summarises how energy efficient your home and one that gives a carbon dioxide emission rating. These charts look similar to those supplied on electrical appliances, like fridges and washing machines.
The document also provides advice on how to make your home more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
